Share your sharp attention to detail with those who are blind, visually impaired or print disabled! Seeking dedicated volunteers to monitor live audiobook recording sessions in our professional recording studio. This entails following along in a book or other text as a volunteer records it, making sure there are not errors (mispronunciation, omission of text etc.). Qualified individuals will be able to focus on a text for 1 to 2 hours, committed to finishing projects in a timely manner and have a strong attention to detail.
- Adult (18+ Years)
- Must be able to stay focused on this detail-oriented work
- Must possess a positive attitude and the patience it takes to monitor an audiobook
- Must be able to work cooperatively with a studio engineer and volunteer reader
- Strong reading comprehension and language skills are necessary
Time commitment of 3-5 hours/week for a duration of at least one full semester.
Upon acceptance to the program, training will be provided in our studios at the Central Library Building in downtown Milwaukee.
